New designs inspired by the trencadís technique, so present at Park Güell. A technique full of color and originality that we now also show in digital printing on cotton fabrics and silk to offer different products. In particular, we have developed a collection based on a trencadís with a predominance of blue tones – which we call trencazul – present in our cushion cover, cotton flower vase, tote bag and silk scarf and that we will expand to other products.
Trencadís is the Catalan term to define a mosaic made by pieces of broken ceramic tiles –usually with an abstract pattern– which characterizes Modernista architecture. It’s origin is usually attributed to the modernist architect Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926).
Watching a batch of ceramic tiles remains piled up to be discarded at a construction yard, he immediately thought about recycling them for its use. A curious way of recycling that is actually trendy.
